Mooting Competition May 2013

Bond University Mooting competition.

Three NARC students took on the roles of a legal team defending against a civil court appeal concerning negligence.

Mary, Tania and Albere formed a team advocating for the respondent, a child aged 12 who was charged for negligence. This all took place in courtroom 10 of the ACT Magistrates Court.

Tania won an Advocacy Merit Award.

The students performed admirably.

HISTORY OF NARRABUNDAH HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE BOOK LAUNCH


You, your family and friends are invited to the launch of The History of Narrabundah High School/College by John Cope (former NC teacher and inaugural principal of Lake Ginninderra College), here at the college in the Quad on Saturday 16 March at 2.30pm. The book will be launched by the first school captain, now Prof Bob Fagan from Macquarie University. There will be music, an opportunity to purchase the book for $30 and signed by the author, you can catch up with other former students and as a bonus you can attend a taster of The Chalk Pit written by Peter Wilkins, former NC drama teacher. Wonderful News : Forestry will be offered in 2013.

If you want a major in Environmental Science you will need to do Forestry in 2013 then Environmental Systems in 2014.

Please note : Forestry will not be offered again until 2015.

Crime Prevention Debating Competition

Last night Narrabundah College won the finals of the Crime Prevention Debating competition.

Nick Bonyhady and Owen James were in the winning team and Nick won the best speaker on the competition and Owen was the third best speaker. 

Grace Dickinson and Sophie Corea came third in the competition.

Narrabundah College wins Dowse Debating Competition 2012

CONGRATULATIONS TO Nick Bonyhady, Max Cass and Owen James who defeated the Boys’ Grammar Team in the Grand Final of the Dowse Debating Competition on Tuesday August 28.
 
Owen James won the Wood Medal for the Best Speaker in the Grand Final.
 
Nick Bonyhady was awarded the Barnsley Shield for the best speaker for the whole comp with Owen James runner-up and Grace Dickinson in third place for this Shield.
 
Congratulations too to all students who took part in this competition.
 
We would like to acknowledge Fiona Arthur’s significant contribution in organising our students for this debating competition.
