Winter Concert 2013

Narrabundah Winter Music Concert

Winter Concert 2013 smaller

19th June 2013

Congratulations to all of the students who performed in the Narrabundah Winter Music Concert. It was a wonderful night with a great variety of very talented performers of Classical, Jazz and Contemporary Music.

There were many highlights. Will and Charlotte performed an original composition absolutely beautifully, the Narrabundah Vocal Group had their first ever performance, and there were many first-time individual performers such as Jarrod, David, Danielle, Ben, Martin, Josephine and James.     The night concluded with the very dynamic Jazz Ensemble, who played a beautiful selection of Latin Jazz tunes. Their set was complete with awesome rhythms, an impromptu cameo from Gary France,  solos and gorgeous vocals.

Thanks to our lovely MC’s, (and incidentally, Narrabundah Music Scholarship recipients!) Emma and Mia, who not only MC’d but performed beautifully as well. Fantastic job everyone. You all really made the concert a great success.

Thanks to all parents, friends, students and teachers who attended, we hope to see you at the next one! If you missed this one, you can listen to the Narrabundah radio show on Saturday nights on 2xx 98.3 fm, and you may hear some of the wonderful recordings from the Winter Music Concert…

More exciting things happening in music soon- Triple J Unearthed High is on again, and some of our students are entering their original songs! We’ll post a link to their entries on the Narrabundah Facebook page soon so you can have a listen and show your support by reviewing their songs. Any other music students who would like to enter an original song should come and see me asap if you’d like to have it recorded for the comp. (Entries close 22nd July).

Yours musically,

 Emma Kelly and John Black

The talk and discussion lasted for almost three hours. After being thanked Virginia’s response was most affirming of the students involved.

 “It was my absolute pleasure.
