Beyond the classroom

The Humanities faculty at Narrabundah College offers a wide range of courses that are both challenging and rewarding. The scope and calibre of subjects within the Humanities ensure that students are well equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyse human behaviour and society with a critical eye. The teachers are passionate and experienced, and many have had first-hand experience in the field that they teach. As a result, Humanities students at Narrabundah College are not only guaranteed comprehensive and engaging classes, but also learn practical skills that can be applied beyond the classroom.

Head of Humanities, A.Aggarwal, acknowledges that there are a number of unique opportunities and partnerships for students to be involved in at Narrabundah College; "In Psychology and Sociology we have an enormous number of guests who come in from the ANU and overseas." "In economics we have a relationship with UBS. … In Accounting and Business [we have a relationship] with the Chartered Accountants [and] … with the Chamber of Commerce. … Chris Richardson comes in regularly to speak to us; he's one of Australia's top Economists. So we have these great partnerships with not only people who are at the top of their industry and at the top of their academic field, but also people who are working in everyday businesses and allowing our students opportunities to go out and work with them."
