UN Day

UN Day

UN Day (United Nations Day) is one of the major annual fundraising events at NARC. Its inception was back in 1991. The event is held between 11:00-13:00 on the actual UN Day, which is 24 October, in the college quadrangle. Students’ dance and music performances are demonstrated while international food stalls trigger appetite of the NARC community.  All staff at NARC contribute to the event by organising performers, holding stalls and providing logistic support.  Guests from various organisations including embassies are invited, and a message from the Secretary General is delivered by the Director of UN Information Centre for Australia, NZ and the South Pacific.  The charity money is donated to relevant organisations that are in need of community support.  UN Day is to celebrate cultural diversity, community coherence, and curriculum of giving.
