Alumni - STEM - Richard Thomas

Alumni - Richard Thomas - Inspires students in STEM

Former Narrabundah College student Richard Thomas gave a guest talk on May 5th about his studies in Engineering and subsequent corporate career in Management Consulting, Investment Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions.

He gave students lots of advice about how to network and build the skills and experience that could lead to a career in corporate finance. Of particular note he stressed the importance of problem-solving and model-building skills in STEM, and how valuable these skills are to employers.

Richard also spoke about how the College environment – and Narrabundah College in particular - allows students the opportunity to experiment and take risks with little or no risk and urged the students to take full advantage of this.

The talk was well-attended, and the students had lots of questions. Richard kindly offered to give students extra advice via email - see Liam in Science if this is of interest.
